Multiple OS
Find out which Operating Systems you can run on your server.
Every single personal computer or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software that communicates with the computer hardware, including peripherals such as a mouse or a printer, as well as any applications that are installed on your system. Any program input using a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a web server, every single app runs within the parameters established by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This is valid for both standard website scripts and server-side software such as a media server. When a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two independent Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, so that you can set up a different software environment on a single machine.

Multiple OS in VPS
If you choose one of our
virtual private server plans, you'll have 3 different Operating Systems to choose from - CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu. They are all Linux releases and we offer them rather than offering just one OS, because the applications that you may want to run on the server could have specific requirements about the software environment. Each of the three has some pros in terms of the available plans that you may eventually install, but what is common between them is that they are very secure and reliable and have huge communities which support them. The web hosting Control Panel choices for the VPS accounts depend on your Operating System choice, in order to give you more flexibility. In case you order the virtual server with one OS and you need another one later, our tech support team can easily reinstall the VPS with the new one in a matter of minutes. We also offer you the option to keep the Operating System on your server up-to-date weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Hosting
The
dedicated server solutions that we offer come with as many as three different Operating Systems to select from. They are all Linux distributions - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license fees, but they’re also regarded as the most stable and risk-free OSs. We provide three different ones since each of them is supported by a separate community. The packages that you could add on your web server are different and this could matter if you want to install some piece of software with specific requirements about the hosting environment. In this light, the web hosting Control Panel which you can select for the dedicated server is also determined by the Operating System that you'll choose. You may choose any of the three Operating Systems during the order procedure, yet if necessary, we can always install the server anew with an alternative one upon your request. As an additional service that you can add to the plan at any time, we can update your OS regularly in order to keep it as risk-free as possible.
